McCain Disrespects America
McCain blocking fair elections like weaselly dictator from Libya or Iran
The McCain campaign and the Pennsylvania Republican Party have recently taken steps in a lawsuit to have Libertarian Bob Barr removed from the state's ballot. This un-democratic move is despite McCain's promise in the 2000 election that he would, "never consider, ever consider, allowing a supporter of his to challenge his opponent's right to be on the ballot in all 50 states.''
What do we learn about McCain from this?
1 – FLIP FLOPPER! As much as I am sick of that term, we will be compelled to repeat it here often: he’s either lying or senile – but he flip-flops all the time. The McCain of 2008 is nothing like the McCain of 2000. In 2000, the New York Times reported: “McCain Urges Bush to Halt New York Ballot Challenge,” because Bush tried to pull the same kind of crap against McCain in the 2000 primaries, and McCain called him on it. Then, McCain told reporters,
''Let's not have the kind of Stalinist politics that the state of New York, the Republican Party, has been practicing. "We all know that the Berlin wall is down, ... People should be able to get on the ballot in states. I'm sure that if Governor Bush told them, don't do that, don't remove McCain's name, they would respond. Everybody knows that I am a legitimate candidate. I should be on the ballot."
McCain then clearly stated: "I would never consider, ever consider, allowing a supporter of mine to challenge Governor Bush's right to be on the ballot in all 50 states."
McCain has now made a complete flip-flop from his 2000 position. It’s Un-American and it’s weaselly.
2 – COWARD! McCain must be worried about Bob Barr because he is a more conservative Republican nominee. Barr is farther to the right on taxes, abortion, guns, and although McCain's claim to fame is “All American Bravery” using a lawsuit to get your opponent kicked off the ballot so you don't even have to run against him is, well, it’s weaselly.
"This move by the McCain campaign completely contradicts everything John McCain stood for in 2000 when his competitors were trying to keep him off the ballot," says Barr. "McCain has become a part of the same corrupted machine he spoke vehemently against only eight years ago."
"This is America, where people have a right to run for office and a right to compete for the chance to lead the people of this nation," Barr continues. "I look forward to the chance to compete fairly against Senator McCain for votes in Pennsylvania and every other state."
"This move is certainly one of the more brazen attempts to lock me out of the political process," says Barr. "But it is simply just one more example of how the political establishment desperately clings to their own power instead of empowering the people. The political establishment serves only themselves and not the people of this nation. It is time candidates for the most powerful position in the world compete based on ideas and not dirty politics. I challenge Senator McCain to forcefully and publicly instruct his agents to drop the lawsuit," says Barr.
McCain Prefers A Christian America:
McCain has sought closer ties to the extreme religious right in recent years. The pastor McCain calls his "spiritual guide," Rod Parsley, believes America's founding mission is to destroy Islam, which he calls a "false religion." McCain sought the political support of right-wing preacher John Hagee, who believes Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for gay rights and called the Catholic Church "the Antichrist" and a "false cult."
McCain said in October 2007: "I would probably have to say yes, that the Constitution established the United States of America as a Christian nation."
In an interview with Beliefnet, a Web site that covers religious issues and affairs, McCain said:
"I just have to say in all candor that since this nation was founded primarily on Christian principles, personally, I prefer someone who has a grounding in my faith."
I guess that leaves all the gays, Jews, Muslins, Hindus etc – out! You folks can go elsewhere.
McCain says: “I Didn't Really Love America” until after he was tortured
The press crucified Michelle Obama for a similar comment.
Where is the press now?
